AYSC’s Spring Soccer Program starts Monday April 11, 2011. On the first night please check in under the large tent at Philip Jackman Fields (adjacent Parkside School) at the times listed below for your child’s year of birth. If you have more than one child in Spring Soccer, you will need to check in at each child’s age group time.
The players will have a short scrimmage while AYSC Executives meet with parents for a short informational meeting, to let you know how the Spring Soccer Program works and give you an opportunity to ask questions. On the first night players will receive their t-shirt and schedule for the next 10 weeks, as well as meet their coach and team.
You will also have the opportunity to purchase soccer socks ($2.00 each) and shorts ($5.00 each) if needed. Please note that players are also required to wear shin guards.
The Club also operates a boot exchange program – bring your old cleats if they no longer fit, and / or if there is a pair that fits your child, you are welcome to take them.
We are still looking for coaches – without volunteer coaches, the kids can’t play! The only commitment is to be at the games each week and substitute in players that are on the sidelines and take off players that are on the field. (Co-coaching between one or more parents is absolutely ok.). If you would be willing to coach your son or daughter’s team, please call Angie at 604-856-5839.
Games from April 18 on will be on the same field each week either 5:45 pm or 7:00 pm on Mondays, depending on your schedule. Schedules and rules will be posted on the website once the season starts.
