Canada Soccer “Quality Soccer Provider” License

The Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club is proud to announce that we have been granted Canada Soccer’s “Quality Soccer Provider” Club License.
The Standards for Quality Soccer License indicates that AYSC provides a developmentally appropriate, safe, enjoyable, accessible, inclusive and welcoming playing environment for our participants.
To meet the Standard, AYSC had to demonstrate evidence of several characteristics and behaviours, listed below.

Safety
As part of the licensing process, AYSC confirms with Canada Soccer that AYSC:
- adheres to Canada Soccer Code of Conduct and Ethics
- has a Code of Conduct to Protect Children, including:
- Guidelines for Appropriate / Inappropriate Conduct between Adults / Adolescents and Children
- a Policy outlining what to do if you witness inappropriate conduct that is provided to parents, Coaches, and team personnel
- a Policy requiring that any suspicion of child abuse is reported to law enforcement
- a Rule of Two Policy on which it educates players, parents, Coaches, and team personnel
- supports the Coaches Association of Canada Responsible Coaching Movement
- provides an environment that supports participant’s physical and emotional safety (free of bully, discrimination, etc.)
Accessibility & Inclusion
As part of the licensing process, AYSC confirms with Canada Soccer that AYSC:
- is committed to providing an accessible, inclusive, and welcoming soccer environment and experience for all participants
- appreciates diversity to ensure everyone feels safe and that they belong regardless of ability and background.
- Coaches are culturally sensitive and programs include culturally appropriate activities.
- provides programming that targets underrepresented groups as outlined in the Canada Soccer Guide to Accessibility and Inclusion
- has programs, partnerships, and / or other mechanisms to reduce barriers to participation – see Financial Assistance
Technical
As part of the licensing process, AYSC confirms with Canada Soccer that AYSC:
- programming considers Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) stage appropriate principles – see AYSC & Long Term Player Development – LTPD
- playing formats are aligned to Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards – see DOCUMENT??? [playing formats utilized must align to the Canada Soccer Grassroots Standards for number of players on the field, size of the ball, goals, and field, length of the game, and coach-to-player ratio at minimum – upload programming documentation to confirm alignment]
- is committed to providing an enjoyable soccer experience for all participants
- is focused on long-term participation
Coaches & Team Personnel
As part of the licensing process, Coaches and team personnel must have training and / or certification that is aligned to programs operated and Canada Soccer and / or MA standards, have completed Respect in Sport Activity Leader training, and have completed proper background screening, including a Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC) within the last 3 years.
AYSC provides Canada Soccer with coach and team personnel lists that includes:
- NCCP Number and level of training and / or certification
- Respect in Sport Activity Leader Program certification number
- date of most recent Criminal Record Check
Infrastructure
- has access to appropriate facilities and equipment to provide its programming
Governance
As part of the licensing process, AYSC confirms with Canada Soccer that AYSC:
- is located in Canada
- has basic governance structures
- is a Member in Good Standing with its governing organization(s)
- is compliant with the by-laws, policies, and directives of its governing organization(s)
- registers all participants with its governing organization(s)
- does not interact with non-member organizations unless approved by governing organization(s)
Administration
- registers all participants with its governing organization(s)
- has basic management and operational structures
- distributes information from Canada Soccer and its governing organization(s) to its participants
