Spring Soccer (U5-U12)
U5 to U12 Recreational Soccer
Fitness & Fun!
Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club’s Spring recreational soccer program (also known as “House”-level soccer) has an emphasis on fitness and fun, with a chance to play with old friends as well as make new ones. The program is endorsed and approved by BC Soccer.
Spring recreational soccer is aimed at U5 to U12 players wanting to continue after the traditional Fall season ends in March. This is also an excellent opportunity to introduce new players to the game, and allow kids who are busy with hockey or other activities in the Fall a chance to participate in community soccer.
Teams play 5 to 7 a side depending on age group (usually mixed boys and girls). Rules are modified to eliminate off sides, and with substitutions permitted on the fly, the Spring recreational program offers a fast paced and fun-filled game.
Recreational Soccer Dates & Times
Opening day is April 6, 2020 where the Club formalizes teams. Monday night games run April 20 – June 22 (no games April 13 Easter Monday or May 18 Victoria Day), with 5:45 pm and 7:00 pm kickoffs. Games are played on the Aldergrove Athletic Park turf, rain or shine, unless the Township closes the field.
U8 to U12 Competitive Soccer
Higher-Level Games & Training
Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club’s Spring competitive soccer program offers AYSC players a chance to train in a more structured setting and scrimmage against neighbouring community teams (e.g. Langley, Abbotsford).
Competitive Soccer Dates & Times
The competitive soccer program takes place on two nights a week, Mondays and Wednesdays, with one night for games and the other for Academy training sessions in a “skills and drills”-type setting led by experienced AYSC Club coaches. Away games sometimes take place on a different evening depending on neighbouring clubs’ field allocations but no games are planned for weekends.
Details regarding the competitive soccer program will be firmed up once all of the clubs involved have been allocated field time. Please indicate your interest in the competitive program when registering.
Volunteer Team Leaders Needed
PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO OPERATE THE SPRING PROGRAM UNLESS WE HAVE ENOUGH PARENTS / GUARDIANS STEP FORWARD TO LEAD TEAMS. The Spring program is low-key and does not require a lot of ‘coaching’ – we only need volunteers to help manage the number of players on the field and substitutions. To indicate your willingness to volunteer, please circle the appropriate box on the registration form.
Where Do My Registration Fees Go?
Your fees pay for:
- Township of Langley field charges
- a t-shirt
- equipment (balls, cones, and nets)
- field maintenance (lining)
- general Club operating costs (accounting, advertising, printing etc.)
See Refund Policy for information on AYSC’s refund policy.
