What Team am I On?
The first few weeks of the season provides the Club an opportunity to assess players, recruit additional Team Leaders / Coaches, and set balanced teams and schedules.
During this first part of the season, players will be put into informal “teams” so that our volunteer Team Leaders, Club Coaches, and players can all get to know each other; AYSC’s Club coaches will be running station-based “skills and drills” with all players and volunteer Team Leaders / Coaches, so that all players get the same soccer experience.
Players will be assigned a team by mid-April, and a formal game schedule will be released at that time (the evening / time listed below for your player’s age group will not change).
Ever wonder what challenges go into creating a youth sports league schedule? See How Developmental Schedules Get Created.
Volunteer Team Leaders / Coaches Needed
AYSC IS A VOLUNTEER-RUN ORGANIZATION. WE CANNOT BEGIN TO CREATE TEAMS AND SCHEDULES UNTIL ENOUGH PARENT / GUARDIAN VOLUNTEERS HAVE STEPPED FORWARD TO BE TEAM LEADERS / COACHES. WE STILL NEED MANY VOLUNTEERS AT ALL AGE LEVELS.
If you have registered a player with AYSC for this Spring, please consider volunteering to be a Team Leader / Coach ASAP.
To volunteer, see https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/volunteer/.
When Do I Play? Where Do I Play?
Players in the Competitive Soccer (Cascadia League) program will be contacted directly by their Coaches regarding season information.
All AYSC Recreational Soccer program activities take place at the Aldergrove Athletic Park (AAP) turf fields, behind Betty Gilbert Middle School – view Google map.
Our Recreational program will run on the following evenings:

“U” means Under, i.e. U5s are players who are under 5 years of age.
*NOTE: Due to Township of Langley field allocations, we have had to change our U9/U10 time slot to 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm. If your U9/U10 player cannot make this time slot, please see https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/policies/#refund for refund information.
PLEASE ENSURE YOU COME TO THE FIELD FOR THE CORRECT TIME FOR YOUR AGE GROUP. Download a Field Map for age group locations (PDF).
Some player shuffling may occur in-game to promote fair play, per BC Soccer guidelines.
What Do I Wear / Bring?
Wear either cleats or runners and shin pads, and bring water. All players will be provided with t-shirts. Scrimmages / games will be played with one team wearing pinnies. T-shirts will be handed out by mid-April.
AYSC operates a free soccer boot exchange at Aldergrove Athletic Park (Rubbermaid bins in the large grey container). If you need boots, check to see if there are a pair that will fit your player. If you have used boots to exchange or donate, please put them in a Rubbermaid bin during any session.
See you on the pitch!
