What Team Am I On?
The first few weeks of September provides the Club an opportunity to assess players and set balanced teams and schedules. From September 18–September 25, AYSC’s Club coaches will be running station-based “skills and drills” with all players and volunteer team leaders. Players will be assigned a team at the end of September, and a formal game schedule will be released at that time.
When Do I Get My Uniform? What Do I Wear?
All players will be provided with blue jerseys, shorts, and socks. Games will be played with one team wearing pinnies. Some temporary player shuffling may occur in-game to promote fair play, per BC Soccer guidelines.
Uniforms will be handed out once teams are formed.
Players need cleats or runners (not provided). AYSC operates a “have some, leave some; need some, take some” used boot exchange in the large container at the field.
When it’s cold out players can wear a jacket or sweatpants under their jersey. A toque is also an excellent idea – no hats with brims (i.e. no baseball caps).
AYSC Soccer – Rain or Shine
AYSC activities take place rain or shine. AYSC will only cancel activities if the Township of Langley closes the fields (or sets the field status to ‘discretionary’, where the Club will cancel games if we determine the condition of the fields is unplayable). There are no games in the event of snow. Township field status can be viewed at https://www.tol.ca/recreation-culture/parks-and-amenities/field-status/. The Club will communicate any closures as quickly as possible via email.
Volunteer Team Leaders / Assistant Leaders Still Needed
Please contact bhunter@aldergrovesoccer.com ASAP if you would be willing to volunteer.
COVID-19 Protocols
At present we are not under any significant COVID-19 restrictions. However, to ensure we can continue to play throughout the Fall and to keep our community safe, we strongly encourage the following:
- only one adult per player-family at the field
- masks recommended for everyone from the parking lot to the field (no masks required on-field)
- hand sanitization on entry and exit
