Our numbers for the Spring season (week of March 29, 2021 through week of June 14, 2021) are record-breaking and it looks to be a busy and exciting time!

COVID-19 Protocols in Place – Return to Train
At present all activities in our Spring program will be similar to what was run in the Fall, with activities geared to meet the Provincial Health Office COVID-19 protocols currently in place. This will see a focus on developing skills and knowledge in a fun environment. Based on BC Soccer projections we are hoping that by mid-April the restrictions will change and we can begin to play small-sided games again.
Note that due to Township of Langley requirements, spectators will not be allowed at the U7 level and above. INFORMATION ON KICKOFF WEEK ACTIVITIES, COVID PROTOCOLS, ETC. WILL BE SENT THE WEEK BEFORE THE SEASON STARTS.
U5 to U12 Recreational Soccer
Last Friday we finally received our Spring field allocations from the Township of Langley, and have set the following dates and times for our recreational program age groups based on our registration numbers and COVID-19 protocols:
Mondays
- U7/U8 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm
Wednesdays
- U5/U6 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm
- U9/U10 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- U11/U12 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Players will be put into “teams” so that our volunteer Team Leaders, Club Coaches, and players can all get to know each other. Each night there will be a series of stations that the teams will work through, so all of the players get the same soccer experience.
If we are able to progress to small-sided games, we will reassess our groupings to try and make the teams as balanced as we can to ensure games are challenging and fun.
U8 to U12 Competitive Soccer Update
Although we had hoped to offer a Competitive U8 to U12 stream this Spring, targeted at AYSC players excelling at the game and looking to compete against other local soccer clubs, it seems unlikely that we will be able to provide this opportunity given COVID-19 restrictions. We are not closing the door on interplay entirely however, should restrictions change, so stay tuned.
For the time being, we will be offering higher-level “Academy” training sessions led by Club Coaches, twice per week, to those players who indicate interest in the Competitive stream when registering.
If you paid for the Recreational program and the optional Clinic sessions, there is no additional cost to ‘transfer’ from the Recreational program to the Academy sessions. If you ONLY registered / paid for the Recreational program and want to participate instead in the Academy sessions, an additional fee of $50 will be assessed.

Fees for the Competitive Academy training sessions will be due before the start of the 2nd session and will be collected via etransfer. Watch for details via email in the coming days.

For those who registered / paid for optional U8 to U12 training sessions, run by our Club Coaches, these sessions will run as follows:

Refund Requests
We realize that some of you may have registered for Spring soccer based on our TENTATIVE field assignment of Wednesday evenings (with optional Clinic / training sessions for U9 to U12 on Monday evenings), and cannot make our finalized session days / times. To withdraw your registration and request a refund please email refund@aldergrovesoccer.com. WITHDRAWALS / REFUND REQUESTS MUST BE SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN MONDAY MARCH 22 5:00 PM. Refunds requested after this date will incur a $50 processing charge. BE SURE TO INCLUDE THE NAMES AND AGES OF YOUR REGISTERED PLAYERS OR YOUR REFUND WILL NOT BE PROCESSED. We will issue refunds as quickly as possible, but please allow up to 4 weeks for processing.
