Thank you to all who have been following AYSC’s COVID-19 protocols. As you are likely aware, cases have been rising in BC, and BC’s public health officials have been encouraging everyone to remain diligent with hand washing / sanitizing and social distancing.
You may have heard in the media over the past few days that a neighbouring club, FC Chilliwack, has unfortunately had some adults ignore their protocols, and some have even become belligerent and aggressive towards club staff, to the point where they have had to hire security. We thank you for respecting AYSC’s processes, which are not only important for everyone’s health and safety, but are conditions upon which AYSC is being allowed to run programs on Township of Langley facilities. ToL park staff have been by Aldergrove Athletic during recent AYSC sessions and have cautioned us to ensure all of our members are following protocols, which are included below as a reminder.
Some other quick points:
- complete COVID-19 questionnaire EACH training day / game
- only one parent / adult at field – sorry, no grandparents or other spectators
- hands sanitized on the way in and out – Team Leaders / Coaches have spray bottles to facilitate this (see Brian Hunter if you need refills)
- please wear a mask and practice social distancing – standing on the sideline or sitting in the stands, please keep a minimum of two metres away from others
- though masks are not required on-field, they do keep players’ faces warm during these cold months!
If everyone does their part, we are hopeful that we can continue to run soccer programming throughout the Winter. Be calm, be kind, be safe!
Player Check-In / COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire – Complete Each Training Day / Game
AYSC’s Player Check-In / COVID-19 Screening Questionnaire must be completed before each training session / game before players come to the field.
WE WILL NOT BE SENDING EMAIL REMINDERS BEFORE EACH TRAINING SESSION / GAME. PLEASE ENSURE YOU COMPLETE THE PLAYER CHECK-IN BEFORE YOU COME TO THE FIELD BEFORE ANY TRAINING DAY / GAME.
Please bookmark the questionnaire link:

FOR U7/U8 AND U9/U10 PLAYERS, AND U11-U12 TRAVELING TEAMS, PARENTS / GUARDIANS SHOULD DROP OFF YOUR PLAYER FROM THE PARKING LOT, AND EITHER WAIT IN YOUR CAR, RETURN TO THE PARK AT THE END OF THE SESSION, OR PERHAPS TAKE A WALK AROUND THE PARK. IF NECESSARY, PARENTS / GUARDIANS CAN WALK THEIR PLAYER FROM THE PARKING LOT TO THE FIELD, BUT MUST NOT REMAIN AT THE FIELD TO WATCH DURING TRAINING SESSIONS / GAMES.

We encourage anyone coming to the park to wear a mask and to practice social distancing and good hand hygiene.
