With Canada’s loss to Switzerland last Wednesday, Canada finished second in its FIFA World Cup group – but moves on to the Round of 32 for the first time ever!
Canada will play South Africa on Sunday June 28, 2026 at Noon (PT) in Los Angeles Stadium, in a knockout game with the victor moving on to a Round of 16 match in Houston on July 4, 2026.
The two nations have met only once previously in international football, in 2007 – a 2-0 South Africa friendly victory – making this their first competitive game, and first FIFA World Cup meeting.
