Preparing for Soccer’s “New Normal”
AYSC continues to monitor updates from health authorities, Canada Soccer, viaSport (BC provincial sports umbrella organization), BC Soccer, and the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL). We are doing everything possible to be ready for various scenarios as the province moves through its phased re-opening to whatever the “new normal” might look like.
As we have no way of knowing at this point exactly what Fall soccer might look like – “Return To Play” programs are being outlined by / will have to be approved by our governing bodies – we will provide AYSC members with updates once we know exactly what programming the Club will offer in the Fall.
Fall Registration Now Open – $50 Deposit
To begin to prepare for Fall soccer programs, we have opened up Fall registration at https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/register/.
We realize this may be an extremely difficult time financially for some families. To that end, we are holding Fall 2020 registration fees to 2019 rates, despite several cost increases to the Club (BC Soccer fees, District fees, equipment costs, Township of Langley field rental).
Additionally, we are offering a payment program consisting of a $50 deposit (per player) due at the time of registration, with final payment due before the season starts in the Fall (usually around the second week of September). Final registration fees and payment deadlines will be determined once we know what the season length and format will look like. If we are unable to go forward with any type of a Fall season, we will issue full refunds for all deposits.
U11-U18 Registration Deadline: July 24
Please note that for Divisional Soccer (U11-U18), the deadline to register is July 24 – based on player registrations, AYSC will determine our team numbers and Divisional assignments shortly after this date so that we can meet BCCSL team submission deadlines.
New AYSC Adidas Kit!
We are excited to announce that AYSC has entered into a multi-year agreement with Soccer City and Adidas to provide kit for our Club. This new AYSC-branded Adidas wear will debut for the Fall 2020 season.
Please Register ASAP
We know there is much uncertainty about the near future, but if you are planning on participating in AYSC soccer this Fall, please register now so that the Club can start to consider programming, field allocations, team and Team Leader / Coach assignment, and kit and equipment orders. Our Executive puts in countless hours of volunteer time to coordinate the season, but we cannot do this without an idea of our numbers.
