Harry Hunt Appreciation Night – January 15

Many of you know Harry Hunt. He is the gentleman who comes to the field and arena to take pictures at many games and tournaments then makes sure those pictures get printed in the Aldergrove Star. He has been an integral part of the Aldergrove community for as long as we can remember. His spirit and dedication are admirable and have made a huge impact on this community.

Unfortunately, he and his family have been experiencing some hard times recently. His health has not been great and his wife Betty’s health is currently even worse. She is suffering from cancer and her prognosis is not good.

The Aldergrove Minor Hockey Association has already set aside $200 to provide meals to the Hunt family. A “Harry Hunt Appreciation Night” will take place on January 15 at the Kodiaks hockey game to try to raise some money for the family and help show them how much the community appreciates all that he has done.

We are asking for your help in whatever way you can.

A number of hockey, soccer and baseball teams will be making this a “team” event and we would like to ask that you consider the same for your team. We would like to fill the arena with as many “Aldergrovians” as we can to show our support to Harry and his family.

In addition, we are looking for silent auction items and/or donations, and also some volunteers to help put this night together.

If you are able to help at all, please contact Debbie Jones at 604-842-2024 or ldrbjones13@gmail.com, or Brian Hunter at 604-761-8824 or bhunter@sd35.bc.ca.

An account has also been set up at the Aldergrove Credit Union if you are unable to attend but would like to make a donation. The account number is 676410.
