AYSC players were recently featured in the Aldergrove Star.
Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club players had a change from the usual practices, muddy cleats, and games at the local park by visiting the Whitecaps on club night last Friday at BC Place, getting a behind-the-scenes look at a professional match.
The Vancouver Whitecaps’ annual club night saw AYSC as one of the community teams invited to attend a match at a discounted rate and take part in game-day experiences.
This year, 183 people from AYSC – including players, family, and friends – made the trip to watch the Whitecaps face Sporting Kansas City on April 17.
“It was a pretty large group for a little Aldergrove to produce,” said Melissa Hobbis, vice-president of AYSC.
Hobbis said the Whitecaps reach out to invite local clubs each year.
