AYSC is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive sport environment for all participants, with the goal of encouraging lifelong participation in soccer.
Player development is an ongoing process. In alignment with Canada Soccer’s Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model, AYSC Club and volunteer coaches will continue to observe and support players throughout the season to help ensure each child is learning and progressing at an appropriate level.
Our Spring season starts the week of March 30, 2026. See https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/programs/spring/ for general season information.
During the first week or two of the season, Club staff coaches will lead sessions alongside our volunteer coaches to introduce our development model. This collaborative approach helps establish shared expectations and supports volunteers in delivering consistent, player-centred training experiences.
See you on the pitch!
Competitive Programs (Cascadia & LUSA Interlock)
For competitive programming (Cascadia and LUSA Interlock), players have been grouped using ongoing AYSC observations and assessments to best support their development, in alignment with the LTPD framework. Our goal is to provide environments where players are appropriately challenged while continuing to build confidence, skills, and enjoyment of the game. The Cascadia and LUSA Interlock programs TWO WEEKNIGHTS at Aldergrove Athletic Park, WITH A WEEKEND GAME – see schedule below.
Recreational Program
Our Recreational program follows the same player development philosophy, with one structured session per week focused on skill development, confidence, and enjoyment of the game. Recreational programs run on ONE WEEKNIGHT (no weekend / traveling games) – see schedule below.
Recreational players will not be assigned to formal “teams” – players will be organized into pods / groups based on developmental level, and will work through a “1/2 skill development phase, 1/2 game phase” (e.g. mini game / World Cup format) for each weeknight session.
When Do I Play? Where Do I Play?
All AYSC Recreational Soccer program activities take place at the Aldergrove Athletic Park (AAP) turf fields, behind Betty Gilbert Middle School – view Google map.

What Do I Wear / Bring?
Wear either cleats or runners and shin pads, and bring water. All players will be provided with t-shirts (Recreational) or a jersey (Cascadia / LUSA Interlock).
AYSC operates a free soccer boot exchange at Aldergrove Athletic Park (Rubbermaid bins in the large grey container). If you need boots, check to see if there are a pair that will fit your player. If you have used boots to exchange or donate, please put them in a Rubbermaid bin during any session.
Volunteer Team Leaders / Coaches Needed
AYSC IS A VOLUNTEER-RUN ORGANIZATION. WE CANNOT BEGIN TO CREATE TEAMS AND SCHEDULES UNTIL ENOUGH PARENT / GUARDIAN VOLUNTEERS HAVE STEPPED FORWARD TO BE TEAM LEADERS / COACHES. WE STILL NEED MANY VOLUNTEERS AT ALL AGE LEVELS.
If you have registered a player with AYSC for this Spring, please consider volunteering to be a team leaders / coach ASAP.
To volunteer, see https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/volunteer/.
