AYSC provides opportunities to advance coaching education for current volunteer coaches, or for individuals who think they might be interested in volunteering to coach. Course costs are covered by the Club, and courses will be run during regular practice times.
We are hoping to offer the following coaching courses in December at Betty Gilbert Middle School, subject to a minimum number of attendees:
- Active Start (U4-U6): Build confidence in young players, using games and imagination, through improving physical literacy and enthusiasm for the sport.
- FUNdamentals (U6-U9): Foster enjoyment, skill growth, and inclusion – foundation for lifelong participation in sport.
- Learn to Train (U9-U12): Develop coaching skills to nurture players’ technical ability, decision-making, and teamwork during their most important skill-building years.
- Soccer for Life (U13+): Facilitate player enjoyment and improve the game throughout their lives, emphasizing health, belonging, and sustained participation.
If you are a current coach, AYSC Club coaches will fill in for you at your regular sessions to be able to attend these courses. There will be an online theory component (Part 1) and an on-field component (Part 2) to complete for most courses. AYSC will also provide step-by-step guides to links on where to register and access the online content.
All dates / times will be announced by next week with courses to be held in December (2nd / 3rd week).
