The Club’s Executives and volunteers have been hard at work organizing for the season, and we are excited to see many new names who have registered.
Below you’ll find startup information for our U5 to U10 Developmental Program. A separate message regarding U11 and up Competitive Program startup will be sent shortly.
U5 to U10 Developmental Program Season Kickoff: Saturday September 16
Specific Times for Each Age Group – Please Read Carefully
The first few weeks of September provides the Club an opportunity to assess players and set balanced teams and schedules. On September 16 and September 23, AYSC’s Club coaches will be running station-based “skills and drills” with all players and volunteer Team Leaders.
Players will be assigned a team at the end of September, and a formal game schedule will be released at that time.
Developmental age group times FOR THE FIRST SATURDAY are as follows:
- Date: Saturday September 16, 2023
- Location: Aldergrove Athletic Park (AAP), behind Betty Gilbert Middle School – view Google map
- Times:
- 8:15 am – 9:15 am U5/U6 (EAST TURF)
- 9:30 am – 10:30 am U7/U8 (EAST TURF)
- 10:45 am – 11:45 am U9/U10 (EAST TURF)
PLEASE ENSURE YOU COME TO THE FIELD FOR THE CORRECT TIME FOR YOUR AGE GROUP. Bring water and either cleats or runners and water.

Help Us Grow Our U5/U6 Group
AYSC is looking to grow our youngest age group (U5/U6, or players under five / six years old). It looks like our numbers for this age group will exceed what we had registered last Fall, but we’re aiming even higher. If you know of avenues that will put AYSC’s name and programs in front of more people in the Aldergrove / Langley / West Abbotsford Area, please let us know by emailing info@aldergrovesoccer.com.
Volunteers Needed
AYSC relies heavily on our fantastic parent / guardian group to keep things moving smoothly, and we need volunteers to step forward to be Team Leaders / Coaches before we can organize teams and schedules.
Many feel they do not have enough experience or skill to coach, but the truth is that at the younger ages the primary responsibility is to help players develop very basic skills (dribbling, shooting, passing etc.) and ensure they have FUN!
This year we have added several additional individuals to our roster of Club Coaches so that we can provide more support to our volunteers, to ensure they enjoy the experience and want to continue being involved with their player’s soccer journey.
