As we pass the halfway point in the Spring season, AYSC would like to remind all parents and players of our Player & Parent / Guardian Codes of Conduct, agreed to when registering:
https://www.aldergrovesoccer.com/policies/#codes-conduct
Please view the PDF links at the URL above and re-familiarize yourself with AYSC’s Codes of Conduct.
The Cascadia League (AYSC’s Competitive Soccer program) has apparently seen a jump in the number of incidents of violent player conduct and referee abuse red cards, as well as a growing number of emails each week about coaches / players / parents being abusive towards opposing coaches / players / parents on the field. We have had some indication of a few similar issues in our Recreational Soccer program.
This is concerning and is something we all have a role to play in reducing. Please remember that our coaches are volunteers, and our players and many of our referees are young. We are ALL learning. The game is meant to be fun, for all involved.
Verbal or physical abuse isn’t fun for those receiving it. Not playing, and being suspended isn’t fun for those who get in trouble. Nobody is winning in these situations.
As indicated when registering, failure to adhere to AYSC’s policies may result in cancellation of your registration without reimbursement and / or cancellation of your membership with AYSC and / or other consequences as decided by the AYSC or BC Soccer boards.
Thank you for your attention to this message.
