The Montreal Impact of the MLS (Major League Soccer) have announced that they have purchased the playing rights of Joel Waterman, a former Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club (AYSC) player, from Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL).
Joel is a long-time Aldergrove resident, graduating from Aldergrove Community Secondary School in 2014. Waterman played for AYSC for several years in his youth soccer days. He went on to play for Trinity Western University (TWU) throughout his university career (taking Silver in the Canada West championship in 2018), and then Cavalry FC in 2019, the CPL’s inaugural season.
Waterman has helped coach Aldergrove’s U14 Boys team the past few seasons, with the AYSC squad taking both the District and League Championships for 2018/2019.
Aldergrove Soccer’s Club Coaches, Executive, and volunteers are excited for Joel about this incredible new opportunity and wish him all the best as he continues his professional soccer career.
