AYSC Coach Brian Hunter Receives “Difference Maker” Honour at Langley School District Athletics Evening

Longtime Aldergrove Youth Soccer Club coach Brian Hunter was the 2019 recipient of the “Difference Maker” Award (Jim Ehman Memorial) at the Langley School District Athletics Evening on May 24, 2019. Brian has been a teacher / athletics and rugby coach at Aldergrove Community Secondary School for many years. The award is given to a coach who exemplifies the Langley School District’s core values of Integrity, Courage, Community, and Excellence – someone who is passionate, dedicated, and has made a significant difference in the lives of students.

On accepting the recognition, Brian told the crowd of coaches and dignitaries that strong relationships are fundamental to success.

“Every team that I’ve had the opportunity to work with, I’ve treated them as a family… If your group has that feeling of family, they’re going to give more of themselves. They’re going to be accountable to each other, and when needed they’re going to have each other’s back,” he said.

AYSC congratulates Brian on this well-deserved honour, and we thank him for his ongoing service to Aldergrove soccer.
