The eight Lower Mainland youth soccer districts have been working over the last 12-18 months to amalgamate in an effort to better utilize resources and provide a more consistent service to all, regardless of geographical region and gender. The first divisions to operate under this new structure were the U13-U18 male divisions (outside Metro) for this past 2017-18 season.
Recently, the eight chairs have agreed to continue the amalgamation, with BC Soccer being fully supportive of this initiative, and the BCCSL board is focusing on implementation for the 2018–19 season. What this means is that the current leagues, Metro Select, BCCGSL and BCCSL Boys will fall under one umbrella as it relates to governance, structure, and organization.
