AYSC Activities Tonight (Wednesday February 23, 2022)
AYSC activities scheduled for tonight (Wednesday February 23, 2022) are proceeding as planned.
Inclement Weather Procedures
Games are played regardless of the degree of rain. However, fields are sometimes closed by the Township of Langley due to too much water on the field. The Township can make this decision as late as the night before game day (or even the morning of a game day in extreme weather). In some instances, the Club itself may decide to close the fields depending on the weather. If the fields are deemed unplayable, the Club will email all coaches and parents as soon as the decision is known. You are encouraged to check your email or the AYSC website often if the weather is questionable.
In the event of snow on the field, all games will be cancelled – coaches / parents will be notified by email.
Developmental Game Cancellations by AYSC ONLY
Note that ONLY the Club can cancel a Developmental game / games; Team Leaders / Coaches should NEVER cancel any games themselves.
AYSC Traveling Teams
If the Township indicates any AYSC fields have a DISCRETIONARY status, the field should be inspected two hours prior to the game time by the home team Coach. When the home team Coach is inspecting the field and if they find standing water or saturated ground like a “sponge”, the field is CLOSED. If the home team Coach determines the field should be CLOSED, they should notify both the visiting coach as well as AYSC, with an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. AYSC can then inform other AYSC home team Coaches whose teams are scheduled to play later that day as to the field’s CLOSED status.
