AYSC will be running several evaluation sessions over the coming weeks to begin to consider U11-U15 rosters for the Fall season. AYSC is dedicated to following long-term player development plans that provide the best opportunities for success, and we will accommodate all players of all levels.
Note: The following age / gender groups have limited players such that AYSC will only have one team, and an evaluation WILL NOT be needed:
- U14 Girls (2012), U15 Girls (2011), U15 Boys (2011) and U16 Boys (2010)
For all other U11-U15 players, there will be four (4) assessments over the last 2 weeks of the Spring season (May 26 – June 5, 2025) to determine what teams we might have for Fall, and at what Division (often referred to as “Div”) they will play. Div 1 teams are more competitive / skilled than Div 2 teams, and Div 2 teams are more competitive / skilled than Div 3 teams.
All players for the highest division of each age group must be recommended by previous coaches or club coaches. Players wanting to be placed on a top Division team within each age group MUST attend an assessment session.
Evaluations for the 2nd highest Division in all age groups are open to all Division 2 players from previous seasons. Division 3 players and U10 B in-house players from last Fall who are interested in Division 2 can request to be evaluated by emailing Coach Cam at cward@aldergrovesoccer.com.
Please ensure that you are looking at the birth year below so that you attend the right sessions – i.e. players who were U10 last Fall are now U11 (2015 Born).

Assessment Protocols
Assessment will align with Soccer Canada guidelines (physical, tactical, psychosocial, and technical skills). Assessments will be made by club coaches and volunteers, not by the past / current coaches of players / teams that are being assessed (though coaches can make placement recommendations to be taken into consideration). The finalized roster for any team take into account all information and assessments collected throughout the year with the support of the expected appointed coach of the team for the Fall.
Assessment drills are based on the following (universal AYSC drills):
- technical drill involving passing, dribbling, and first touch
- 1v1 challenging drill assessing attacking and defending
- tactical drill involving team understanding
- game-based drills
