AYSC provides coaching education opportunities for current volunteer coaches, or for individuals who think they might be interested in volunteering to coach. Course costs are covered by the Club.
Canada Soccer is requiring all clubs nationally to maintain certain basic standards for all volunteer coaches. These courses are not difficult – essentially everyone who participates in any course gets certified no matter their soccer experience level. Without enough coaches with basic certifications, THE CLUB WILL BE UNABLE TO OPERATE so it is important than enough parents / guardians step forward to take these courses.
February 2026 Courses
- Saturday February 21, 2026: FUNdamentals (U7-U9) and Learn to Train (U10-U13): 12:15 PM – 4:15 PM
- Saturday, February 28, 2026: Soccer for Life (U14+): 12:15 PM – 4:15 PM
Location for both courses is the East Turf at Aldergrove Athletic Park.
Coaches must complete online theory BEFORE attending the in-person field workshop session to fully complete a course.
AYSC will provide Club coach coverage for any teams that have activities during these sessions if necessary. The club will reimburse you for any coaching courses (keep receipts).
Registration Steps
Coaches will need two online accounts, one on the Canada Soccer website (to ‘buy’ and complete the content) and another account on the ‘Coach Centre’ for registration and certification collection.

Please complete the online theory portion BEFORE registering for / attending the field workshop session.
When you have completed the online theory, register for the same course (field workshop session portion) at https://www.coachcentre.ca/:

Immediately after you register, click the ‘Documentation’ tab (in Coach Centre) at the top to access the field workshop session plans. You can print these off and bring it to the field workshop session or simply download the document to your phone for instant access on the day. You will need to review the material in advance as you may be required to deliver any one of these sessions during coach practice, so be ready! Arrive 10-15 minutes early and be prepared to participate in light soccer activity.
