AYSC players (or adults) who are age 14 or older in 2026 and have thought of becoming a soccer official (and earning some money!) have the opportunity to become certified as a youth soccer referee by taking a course being offered Sunday January 4, 2026 in Chilliwack.
The course consists of about 6 hours of online modules, where you work at your own pace at home. You can complete the online modules over different days if you wish. The online portion is followed by the on-field session in Chilliwack next Sunday.
On completion of the course you will be able to ref all kinds of games and/or run lines as an Assistant Referee (AR). AYSC referee / ARs often officiate a few games per weekend, with pay per game at:
- U9/U10 – $30
- U11/U12 – $35
- U13 – $55
- U14 – $65 (AR $40)
- U15/U16 – $70 (AR $45)
- Adult games – starting at $100
There are a few spaces left and registration ends Tuesday December 30, 2025 at 10:00 AM. There is a fee for the course of $162, but AYSC will reimburse you after you’ve officiated a few games for us.
