Field Status

All Aldergrove Fields are OPEN

February 5th 2010 TOL update;

This is the field status report for the weekend of February 6 & 7/10: ALL TOWNSHIP FIELDS ARE OPEN WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE FOLLOWING FIELDS THAT ARE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON: Alex Hope Park – S/W Field and the North Field, R.C. Garnett – West, James Kennedy, Walnut Grove – Centre and West Fields Just a gentle reminder: Please remove all portable goals off the field once you are finished using them, even if there is no one waiting for the field, it just makes it nicer for the next association when they come to use the field. Kel . Reminder about the protocol that is to be followed with the frozen fields;

1. Frost – If there is frost on the field then the field is closed to play until that frost has melted off. When frozen grass is stepped on the frozen tissue breaks in the grass blade and it will die off at ground level leaving yellow dead patches all over the field.

2. Ground Frozen – If the Sportsfield ground is frozen then it is closed to play until the ground melts. Footing can be treacherous on a frozen field, and the impact upon bodies falling on that frozen field can result in serious injuries.

3. Snow – Snow covered Sportsfield closed, no explanation needed, see 1 and 2 above.

Just a reminder that the field status line will only state "For field conditions please see your association’s web site"
